FOR THE LOVE OF AN ANESTHESIOLOGIST

A FULL-LENGTH PLAY BY BRAD McENTIRE

Jeff Swearingen as Alfred and Kenneth Fullenwider as Man In A Trench Coat
Julie Reinagle as Hank and Jeff Swearingen as Alfred in FOR THE LOVE OF AN ANESTHESIOLOGIST

80 MINUTES / 2 M / 3F / SINGLE SET

A man named Alfred is driven to commit an extremely unpleasant act by his devoted love for Claudia, an anesthesiologist. This act leads, in turn, to a life outside the law and on the run. He now comes to the end of his life… Judgment Day. He must come to terms with his past lives and his past deeds, as he prepares to meet his Maker. He does this waiting at a tiki-inspired cocktail lounge somewhere on the edge of life and death. What he possibly could have been and what he actually became, embodied by the two great lovers of his past, converge on him, demanding resolution.

This piece started as a festival-length one-act before being developed into a full-length play.
